change mood

Excellent value, top quality service

Rooms are smallish but well designed and equipped, clean and comfortable. Very good lobby / lounge area for relaxing or working. Brilliant service from friendly staff.

Nice place but a little far from the city

To all people, planning to travel to Amsterdam... CitizenM is a brilliant hotel.. Loved the bed specially n the mood pad they have.. However, the idea of havong the wash basin almost next to my bed was not too pleasing.. Especially in the mornings..

great concept well done

late check in due to schedule. Perfect if you want to go straight to be because check in is quick and easy. Room is perfect for solo traveller/couple. The room explains itself, so it's down to the point. Great media on tv, wifi, etc. Lobby/lounge is open and large, so you can work relatively undisturbed.

Awesome hotel! such a great staff and such a great feeling !

i`v been to the CitizenM hotel for 3 days, its been a wonderfull expirience, the Tram #5 to DAM Square is less then a minute walk. the room itself has AC which is very important, and the showers are simply cool and funny, i had a great time, the staff was very kind and very polite, giving us a true home feeling. i defently recommend this hotel by all means. do notice the room is kinda small (but very fullfilling) and theres a "secret" compartment under the bed you can store 2 large suitcases.

Not impressed

We wanted a hotel room to rest in after a long overnight trip from America. Only needed from 7am until checkout (around noon). We had to reserve from the evening before, understandable. When we got there, room was not ready (so they rented to others) and charged us extra because we did not spend the night (this was known at reservation time).

Funky

I chose this hotel as it was very close to the airport. I was just looking for somewhere to spend one night before my early morning flight the next day. I was also at the end of my travels, sick, and all I wanted to do was stay in my room all day. After I had checked in, I entered my hotel room and was just blown away. This is one funky hotel room! A king sized bed!!

Stylish, ultra-modern, largely satisfying but not for technophobes.

Stayed for three very hot nights whilst visiting relatives. We were bowled over by first impressions from the self-service check in through to the distinctly different room. We even came to terms with the glass tubes containing the shower and the loo, the latter, perhaps with a nod in the direction of convention, being discreetly cloaked in frosted glass. The bed was spectacular in taking up one end of the entire room and in addition tp offering space it was comfortable.

AWESOME!!!

Such a COOL hotel. Small rooms would be the only drawback but everything else is just amazing. very clean, good location, free films on demand, most comfortable bed, awesome shower and best of all a great budget (79euros per night). Not to mention the whole branding of the hotel is just cool and hip. I stayed in this hotel after the very satisfying stay in CitizenM Amsterdam Airport Hotel.

Fantastic and well designed hotel

This is a fantastic hotel, especially for the price. It has a great modern design and lots of lovely finishing touches that make it a pleasure to stay here. The rooms aren't particularly spacious but they have everything you need. It's fun to play with the "mood pad" which gives you complete control over the room by remote control and also allows you to adjust the lighting etc. according to your mood or activity.

Stay in heaven

Me and Sandra stayed at this hotel this week.We would like to recommend it. The staff was very helpful the room was amazing and comfortable. In 2 minutes walk you will grab the tram, metro or the bus to center Amsterdam (this will take 10-12 minutes). You have a very affordable car park at Olimpic staydium that is very near by,ask in reception for discount rate. The quality of the room and the hotel is value for money! We will come back ! Enjoy Amsterdam :)

Great Concept, with some details to clean up

I had not read about the CitizenM hotel before staying there, so the tiny room was a shock at first. However, the price was great, and the location was fantastic -- just 0.2km walk from Schiphol under a 90% covered walkway.

Excellent hotel

The Citizen M is very simple and very good quality. You do everything yourself, check in, carry your stuff, self service food. the staff (''ambassadors'') Cheerful and very helpful. Self check in is easy.

cool hotel

Stayed there on my last night in Europe, since I'd have an early flight out of Schiphol. The room is very small, but comfortable (and fun). The bed and the shower were amazing, and the moodpad is really nice. The cafeteria is ok, adequate for the style of the hotel. A cool hotel in a handy location. Within its target public its a sure choice.

Funky but flawed

This is a hotel that is more about style than substance - a bit of an experiance that is ok for one night but would wear thin pretty quickly. Main gripe is lack of parking and staff who gave erroneous information on where to park - expect to pay £30 a day on parking and you will need that in change to feed the meter. There is cheap parking at the olympic stadium - 10 minute tram ride away however this was full when we tried.

amazing!

me and my partner went here with 2 of our friends, it was perfect for what we needed it for, it was one stop away from shiphol airport and litterally round the corner from the station, there was a tram stop pretty much outside the hotel to take you into the center, which you saw so much of the city traveling in and out.

Exceeded my expectations that were already quite high

I would say this hotel represented the best value for the money of any hotel I have stayed at. It had many aspects that you would find in a luxury hotel, along with the self-service style that someone like me appreciates. If you enjoy being served, this is not the hotel for you. If you enjoy luxury amenities, but would rather not have someone to carry your bags etc. Welcome to Heaven.

Great value for money!

We wanted a hotel near the airport to catch an early morning flight. The CitizenM hotel seemed affordable and looked cool. The hotel exceeded our expectations: the room was comfortable, we loved the design and the staff was helpful. I'd definitely stay here again!

Design over comfort - admire your room, don't stay in it...

CitizenM likes you to travel light. Your room has a hanger for your coat and a small shelf for your toothbrush - and that's it. Too bad if you brought suitcases, went shopping or want to hang your clothes somewhere - the only place is the floor.

Fab room, incredible staff

I really liked the look of this hotel from its website and it didn't disappoint. Lovely comfy bed, gadgets to play with, very clever loo and shower units, and a spacious foyer area for dining and chilling with tons of fabulous designer and photo books. - which next time I come I will make more time to look through.

great location, comfy bed, clean room, hot water, free internet access -that's all I need

I love this place: it has a very convenient location within a few minutes walk from Schiphol. Normally the hotels that call themselves airport hotels are quite a bit outside and require a shuttle service, but not his one. it has a totally hassle free check in and out. The rooms are very modern and the bed is very nice with big soft pillows and a fluffy blanket.

Convenient location - unconvenient design

The citizenM is only a short walk from Schiphol, this is the major advantage of this hotel. The rooms are radically different from other hotels.  You can barely fit a notebook on one of the two tiny tables.

Clean, affordable, convenient to Schiphol

Bed was huge and comfortable. We travel light so there was plenty of room for us and our luggage. If you travel with a lot of luggage things could get tight. The toilet tube could use some darker tinting.

OK ... why stay somewhere else????

I could not believe the price -- I figured it must be a slum, or else somewhere a long way away from the airport. It's not either: a little further than the ($$$) Sheraton, not so far as the Hilton. Just go out the arrivals-level door and turn left, walk 3 minutes. Take a trolley and leave it out front like everyone else.
